Organizations increasingly operate in environments characterized by volatility, uncertainty, and rapid technological change, making organizational resilience a critical strategic concern. This systematic review examines the relationship between digital transformation and organizational resilience by synthesizing findings from recent empirical research. The evidence suggests that digital transformation can enhance an organization’s ability to withstand and respond to disruptions through mechanisms such as innovation capability and organizational learning. In addition, dynamic capabilities—including sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring—are found to play an important role in strengthening resilience. Digital transformation may also amplify the contribution of reconfiguring capabilities to organizational agility, enabling organizations to adapt more effectively to changing circumstances. Drawing on a systematic review of 77 peer-reviewed studies, the literature identifies a range of factors associated with resilient digital transformation (RDT), organized around three major dimensions: technology, organizational factors, and the external environment. Together, these dimensions create conditions that support both digital transformation and organizational resilience. Empirical evidence from Chinese A-share listed firms further demonstrates that digital transformation can significantly enhance organizational resilience, particularly by improving firms’ innovation capabilities and agility. Overall, the findings highlight the strategic value of digital transformation as a means of developing resilient organizations and offer useful implications for managers and policymakers seeking to integrate digital technologies into organizational resilience strategies.
